The EZ Trak is a 2.5 D control. No contouring! Not true. If you have the newer style 3rd axis head that was made by Elrod machine it will do 3D contouring. I have done it many times. The first 3 axis heads were a cantilever design that were off to the side of the machine. Bridgeport quit installing them and later went to the Elrod design.

Re: Bridgeport EZ trak. Alarm is axis drive fault. If you get an axis drive fault when you attempt to home, something is wrong with the first commanded move. The move is commanded but not made. In a 3 axis machine, the Z would be the problem. A simple trouble shooting would be to switch two of the axis drive units.

I was able to take two indicators to my EZ Trak and used one indicator to set a zero and the other to move one inch at a time. I moved 12 inches by the indicator and the dro on the EZ TRAK stated I moved 12.005 inches. I confirmed that by returning to zero and then going to 12 inches where I was .005 less on the dial.
