This is what i found between the two channels on the SD2200v2 in my tests. I ground balanced my machine in mineralised soil, fixed GB and waved the 11" DD coil over a 5c, 10c, 20c, 50, $2, $1 coins in a line. Ch2 was the strongest signal and it changed from High tone to Low tone between the $2 and $1 coin.

So, I got an old Minelab SD2000 for free (virtually unused) and it works fine, and also I am a total newbie to prospecting. I currently have the Minelab 11 inch DD? and the big 18 inch Dustbin lid fiberglass green mono coil. The mono coil is crazy loud all the time and seems hard to use, while the 11 inch doesn't seem to get deep enough.

the first 2200 green was a model released on its own a very good detector the blue 2100 was released around the time the 3500 were released the blue 2100 was a cheaper detector i do not think i had as much punch as the older green 2100 or 2200 much the same as the 4800 regards john :)

Well, they were a great old machine, but old is the key word here. Here is the Minelab discontinued detector listing. Minelab will service detectors for at least 5 years after they are discontinued. The SD 2200v2, the last version of the 2200, was discontinued in 2009 with service running out in 2014. Welcome to the forum!

Posted October 28, 2019. So today I decided to take my old SD2200D coupled to my 17x10 coiltek mini ufo coil up a local creek that I has been very heavily detected. I also took along my Fisher gold bug with its 5 inch coil. My plan was to walk right up this creek detecting with the SD on the way up and then the gold bug on the way down.
